Project Scheduler | Rio Tinto | Superior, AZ

The Resolution Copper Project, managed by Rio Tinto, is located three
miles east of Superior, Arizona. Although the Resolution Copper Project
is currently in the "pre-feasibility" stage, estimates indicate that the
site could be the source of 600,000 tons of copper production per year
for more than forty years. If the project proceeds as expected, the
future mining operation would create more than 400 full-time employment
opportunities.
The Project Scheduler will provide scheduling support services for a
major exploration and construction project. This position is responsible
for the development and maintenance of the program master schedule. The
Project Scheduler develops and maintains the program master schedule,
as-built schedule, cost and resource loading, impact analysis, report
generation and other related scheduling duties.
Additional responsibilities:
- Review contractor baseline schedules and
monthly progress updates to include: evaluation of changes to critical
path, impacts due to changed conditions, evaluation of delays, changes
to logic, duration, contract milestones and interface points.
- Maintain program master schedule, cost and resource loading, impact
analysis, and report generation.
- Prepare recovery schedule if required.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual schedule reports.
- Develop and report metrics throughout project as required.
- Keep current on all health & safety certifications
- Perform required safety inspections
Qualifications:
- Drive a positive safety culture and
ensure compliance with Rio Tinto's safety, health and environmental
standards and procedures
- Primavera Project Management tools P6 required
- BS Construction Management, Engineering or General Business
- 5 years Project Controls experience
- Experience and knowledge of SAP and office applications
- Knowledge of mining environment will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills within
cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a changing environment.
- Be able to visit / work underground on occasion.
